David J. Farling hails from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He graduated magna cum laude in 1982 from York College and obtained his juris doctorate from the University of Santa Clara Law School in 1985. Soon after being admitted to the California State Bar in 1986 he enrolled in the University of California, Hastings College of Law Trial Advocacy program and was awarded certification there.
